Veterinary Services in Kent, OH

An established veterinary client-patient relationship is required prior to performing treatments and procedures. Don’t hesitate to call us today to schedule your pet’s exam!

Wellness Exams
We recommend annual wellness exams to keep our patients feeling their best! During a wellness exam, we will discuss your pet’s medical history and all current concerns. Our doctors will conduct a full-body, head-to-tail exam to get to know your pet and their needs. We will be able to answer all of your questions, address your concerns, and create a wellness plan tailored specifically to your dog or cat.
Vaccines
Our team is here to keep your pets protected! Many of the diseases that can affect dogs and cats are preventable through proper vaccinations. Let our knowledgeable team guide you through setting up a vaccination schedule for your dog or cat to keep him or her protected.
Microchipping
The chance of being reunited with a lost pet increases greatly if they’re microchipped. Microchipping can offer reassurance that, if lost, animal shelters and veterinarians can identify your pet. A tiny microchip is placed under the skin between your pet’s shoulder blades. The microchip has an identification number on it, which can be read by a scanner. A veterinarian’s office or animal shelter can scan the chip to find out who owns the animal.
Senior Care
If you notice that your dog has developed gray hair around his snout, it is a sign that they are getting older. Dogs are considered seniors (mature adults) between the ages of 7 and 8 years old, and cats are considered seniors when they are 10 years old. When your pet is considered a mature adult, they will start needing special care.

We recommend more frequent wellness exams twice a year to ensure our team is up-to-date on your pet’s health and able to monitor them for any issues that may arise. The golden years are some of the best, and our team will be here with you throughout every step of the journey!

Diagnostics

It is difficult to see your pet in pain or suffering and not know what’s wrong. Our team provides state-of-the-art in-house diagnostics to help us learn what’s wrong and provide an accurate diagnosis. Our diagnostic equipment includes full digital radiography including dental, ultrasound, echocardiography, and endoscopy.

A quicker diagnosis leads to quicker treatment! We do diagnostic testing both in-house and with an outside lab so we can provide results quickly and accurately.

At Stow Kent Animal Hospital, our diagnostic equipment includes digital x-ray and ultrasound. By using digital imaging, we can also easily share the images with specialists or other veterinarians we may consult for more difficult cases.

Surgery
Our team is highly skilled and experienced in performing a wide variety of pet surgeries using modern techniques, cutting edge equipment and always adhering to the strictest standards of safety and care. You can feel confident that when it comes to surgery, your loved one will be in excellent hands with our team!
Preventative Care
Preventative care is essential to maintaining your pet’s health and avoiding any potential illnesses. This includes parasite prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworm, regular wellness exams, and all necessary vaccinations.

Parasites, and the diseases they carry, can all be prevented with proper medication and maintenance. Fleas and ticks are not only a source of irritation to your pet, but they can also harbor disease and adversely affect your pet’s health. Heartworm is a dangerous parasite that lives in the heart of dogs and cats, damages the heart muscle, and can be fatal.

Nutrition
Stow Kent Animal Hospital believes maintaining proper weight and nutrition will help our patients achieve longer, happier, more pain-free lives. In the United States, it is estimated that roughly 60% of cats and 56% of dogs are overweight or obese and this trend is only increasing. If you have concerns about your pets’ weight, the team at Stow Kent Animal Hospital will help put together a weight loss program including adequate nutrition, exercise, and medical interventions (if needed) to help your pet achieve their ideal weight.
In-House Pharmacy
Whether your pet is in need of a prescription medication or diet, you won’t have to go far. Our fully-stocked, in-house pharmacy allows you to fill your pet’s prescriptions during your appointment so you don’t have to spend time waiting.
Hospice and Euthanasia

Dentistry
Did you know that according to the American Veterinary Dental Society, 70% of adult cats and 80% of adult dogs show symptoms of oral disease? Don’t let your pets become part of this statistic!

Just as it’s important for you to see a dentist regularly, it’s important for dogs and cats as well. Your pet’s oral health is directly connected to their overall health. Signs of dental disease include bad breath, loose, broken or missing teeth, yellow or brown teeth, red, inflamed or bleeding gums, difficulty or pain when chewing, pawing at the mouth, and excessive drooling. If you notice any of these symptoms, please contact our team and we’ll be happy to help.

Our pets cannot tell us what’s wrong, and that’s why laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging are so important. But we do more than just offer you state-of-the-art diagnostic tests, we choose the tests that will guide us toward the perfect, tailor-made solution for your pet’s needs.

Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, including CBC, biochemistry, blood gases, urinalysis, coagulation analyzer.

We're here to help.
